Strip & Wax Floors
Strip & Wax Floors
Floors don’t lose their shine overnight. It fades slowly. Wax builds up, gets cloudy, and starts to trap dirt instead of protecting the surface. At that point, adding more wax doesn’t help. It just makes things worse.
Strip and wax floor care is about starting fresh, not covering up old buildup.
We Start by Looking at the Floor
Before anything begins, we check the floor type and its condition. Different floors react differently to stripping solutions and finishes.
We look at:
- How much old wax is built up
- Areas of heavy wear
- Spots that may need extra attention
This helps us avoid damage and get even results.
Removing the Old Wax
The first real step is stripping away the old, dull wax. This clears out buildup that’s been collecting dirt and causing the floor to look cloudy.
This part takes time, but it’s what makes the new finish look right.
Cleaning the Surface Properly
Once the old wax is removed, the floor is cleaned thoroughly. Any leftover residue is taken care of so the new wax can bond properly.
Skipping this step is why floors end up streaky or uneven later.
Applying Fresh Wax, One Layer at a Time
New wax is applied carefully and evenly. We don’t rush this part. Each layer needs time to set before the next one goes down.
This is what brings back the shine and gives the floor a smooth, protected finish.
Final Walk-Through
After the wax is set, we do a final check. We look for uneven areas, missed spots, or anything that needs touch-up. The goal is a floor that looks clean, polished, and consistent from wall to wall.
What You’ll Notice After
- A clean, even shine
- Smoother-looking floors
- Less visible scuffing
- A finish that’s easier to maintain
The space usually feels brighter right away.
